45:e Internationella BSA-rallyt på Isle of Man, 16 – 23 augusti 2008

Nästa års Internationella BSA Rally är på Isle of Man, motorcyklismens Mekka! I detta nummer finner du en inbjudan och anmälningsblankett. Tänk på att du måste förhandsanmäla dig till dessa evenemang. Rallyavgifterna är denna gång ganska okej, men för att komma dit måste du åka två färjor, tex Esbjerg / Harwitch (www.dfdsseaways.se) och Steam Packet Company (www.steam-packet.com) från Heysham eller Liverpool till Isle of Man, tyvärr inte alls billigt. Genom att köra längre, ned till engelska kanalen kommer du billigare undan. Kontakta Boda eller Helen i god tid så kan du få lite tips etc. (Se anmälningsblanketten).

Rabatter för deltagare

Från Engelska BSA-klubben har vi fått följande information angående rabatter på Steam Packet’s färjepriser till Isle of Man. Dessa priser gäller endast för deltagare till 45:e Internationella BSA-rallyt och man måste vara medlem i Svenska BSA Klubben för att få dessa. Detaljer om hur du gör för att få dessa priser fås genom att kontakta vår rally sekretariat (Boda eller Helen) på det telefonnummer som finns på anmälningsblanketten. (Se nedan).

The ferry only rates that we are able to offer members attending the BSA Rally are as follows:

Motorcycle and rider £99 return

Additional passengers or foot passengers £44 return

2 people with Car/Van (up to 5.5 metres in length) £229 return

Additional metre/trailer rate £30 per metre return

These fares are subject to availability and will only apply for travel to the island on Thursday 14 August and Friday 15 August. Return sailings must be completed on Saturday 23 August and Sunday 24 August. I note that some members will stay over for Manx Grand Prix week, in which case the above rates may be available but they will be strictly subject to availability and the prevailing Steam Packet Standard fares may apply. It would be prudent to point out that anyone returning on peak days of travel towards the end of MGP will have to pay the standard fares.

Inbjudan

The B.S.A. Owners’ Club of Great Britain have the pleasure of inviting all the B.S.A. club members and their B.S.A. bikes, from all around the world to the 45th International Rally on the Isle of Man.

There are NO caravan or chalet parks on the Island, there are Hotels, B&B’s and camp sites only.

The Rally will be held at the Glenlough Campsite, Union Mills, Isle of Man. IM4 4AT. Just 3 miles from Douglas on the A1, Peel Road (website: www.glenloughcampsite.com/ ).

We have negotiated a discounted camping fee per person per night

Rent a tent options are available, these are fully equipped self contained tents, visit WWW.IOMTENTS.COM all that you will require is a sleeping bag, these can be obtained new at the cost of around £9 each, please indicate when booking if you will be requiring one of these.

We also have a discounted price for each tent at £9 per person per night, this is subject to minimum occupancy.

You will not be charged the £100 refundable deposit for each tent, the BSA Club will be paying this on your behalf, providing your hire tent and equipment is not damaged in any way, if this happens you will be liable.

I can guarantee that there will be no shortage of these tents to rent, there were row upon row of these at the 2007 TT fortnight, more than we could possibly ever need.

Only members booking through the BSA Club will be eligible for the above discounts and be allowed camping space in the designated BSA International Rally area, if renting a tent direct you will be charged a £100 refundable deposit for each tent and also not allowed in the designated BSA area.

There will be a large marquee erected on site to act as a meeting place, this will include a bar and will be the venue for the Thursday buffet dinner dance.

During the week there will be a food van on site for you to purchase take away meals.

The proposed events for the Rally are as follows:-

Saturday 16^th August Arrivals and booking in. Evening bar and music.

Sunday 17^th Official opening ceremony and afternoon Ride-out. Evening Bar and music.

Monday 18^th Official Line Up at Laxey, followed by Ride-out. Evening bar and music.

Tuesday 19^th Ride-out to Lap of the TT Course. Evening BBQ and music.

Wednesday 20^th Ride-out to Peel. Evening Sunset Line Up at Peel Castle. Evening Bar.

Thursday 21^st Ride-out to Jurby Junk, on to Ramsey for Lunch. Evening Bar and music.

Saturday 23^rd Departure, see you in Holland 2009.

Confirmation of booking will be sent out some time after the close of booking date, due to postage costs this will not include the Rally Plaque, a version of the plaque that you will be receiving can be sent out by e-mail attachment, this will be in landscape and portrait for you to print off and laminate for attaching to your B.S.A.

If you do not have e-mail, ask a friend to print a copy for you.

The Rules of the 2008 B.S.A. Rally will be published in the Rally Programme that you will receive on site when booking in, you are expected to attend with a B.S.A. Motorcycle.

Adherence to the Rules is a condition of participation.
